Still living out of my suitcase, and…still haven`t become an expert at packing. Even if my heart got broken, I gotta leave my old skates behind.. couldn`t fit two in.
I believe the reason I bought a new pair was worth my heart getting broke. But all in good time, let it be secret for now. At least it`s not my foot I shattered..
So started off my journey in Nottingham this time, with my new SSM blades and a PJ, left on a night train after having a case of beer which was 3 years out of date. I hv no memories of what happened next and woke up in Spain in the afternoon where I spent the next few months venturing up north skating along the beach n on the highway. I officially reached the End of the World! (Sagres) That`s what we thought of it anyway before the exploration of America. This is the most South Western point of Europe, from where the discoveries of new worlds began and many voyagers started their trips (now including me!) When I needed a hostel I looked for not the biggest but highest in town.. a Need for speed.. So I had downhill skate sessions every time I popped into the shop for milk n beer or went out partying to the centre.. ; )
I hv gotten into the habit of wearing PJ in public and also while skating.
A. It was fuckin hot.
B. I don`t give a damn, I like it n just wanted to chill.
C. as I said before that was the only thing I packed for the journey.
I loved the heat and looked like a cooked crab mosta time.
I found the coolest abandoned building ever on the beach where I`ve squatted with newly made friends. 800 rooms and a pool all4free and just for us! Had a mint rooftop session on the ledges, the sunset -over the beach- from there was totally out of this world! You can`t top this!
Went back there n discovered a lot more in the daylight, actually stayed a few more days alone. Also found spots with breathtaking views where I became tourist attraction..shredding in the heat. Was so weird few days later ppl would still remember my face…or my Pj… haha.
I was out kayaking when a bad storm out of nowhere hit us, huge waves crashed on the rocks and washed me into a cave, nearly splitting my kayak into two, was pretty freaky but this dude came to my rescue I met earlier in a pub so I kinda enjoyed it.. After the adrenalin rush we went to grab some more booze, turned out he was a pro longboarder hoho n I got hooked on that shit. Its just a different way to go fast.. He knew all the longboard friendly hills around so we raced against each other and a bunch of other guys.. Needles to say I only won with my skates on.. but I got better at it every day. I volunteered as an English teacher in exchange for free accom & food so I could stay longer. Awesome times! Just didn`t want to leave. I started hitchhiking when my wheels weren`t spinning well anymore..
I`m seriously a lot like The Little Prince: looking beneath the surface to find the real truth of things & meaning of life, meeting foxes during my travels from who I learn, trying to avoid the snakes who tempt me to do wrong.. I`m most probably in need of a nice rose in my garden tho`… Maybe I ll start looking. Maybe I need a garden first..
